Wind Turbine Model

This project, for Three-Dimensional Modeling for Design at UC Berkeley, was my first experience using SolidWorks. The objective of this project was to model and print a wind turbine built to withstand bending load and maximize energy output.

This tower placed first in the class for the least amount of deflection (3.33mm) under the highest amount of load (5.0kg). The blades were able to generate an efficiency of about 61%.

My primary involvement in this project was in concept sketching, design, and 3D modeling. Professor Youssefi (pictured right with the developed tower) was the supervising professor for this project.
