Orbuddy

A semester-long project for Human Centered Design Methods, Orbuddy is a solution developed for decreasing sedentary behavior in working adults.

Contextual research was conducted to refine the problem of sedentary behavior and develop solution spaces.

Once the product opportunity gap was narrowed down, user research was conducted and synthesized into personas

Many solution concepts to this problem were developed, including a very early version of Orbuddy

There were several iterations of designs that led to the final design of Orbuddy.

My involvement centered mostly around concept generation, prototype design and modeling, and graphics, including the following product demo video.

Despite pandemic restrictions, working with the Orbuddy team was one of the most rewarding experiences in my time at UC Berkeley. Special thanks extended to Dr. Kosa Goucher-Lambert and PhD student Ananya Nandy, as well as the rest of the Orbuddy team, Julia Ide, Xiangjiu (Jenn) Wu, and Matthew Mesman.
This project helped me gain experience and insight into the methods of human-centered research and design, integral to my goals of working in engineering design for consumer products.
More information on Orbuddy can be found on the product Behance page.
