Hydroponic Garden Sensor

A project for Electronics for IoT at UC Berkeley, this sensor was developed to monitor a hydroponic garden assembly and prevent water pump burnout.

The video (below) simulates the function of the garden sensor using a draining water tank.

The sensor incorporates cloud communication, distance sensor, and a temperature sensor. It sends text alerts to the user if the water level drops below a specified threshold and activates an LED.

The online component also takes a history of temperature and water level to identify trends. Further development would incorporate water pump control as well.
